FARMER APPRECIATION DAY
Saturday, July 16th, 2005
9:00 AM until 4:00 PM
This year marked the 3rd Annual "Farmers Appreciation Day" Celebration which was sponsored by our Retail Vendors, Brady Produce, Lights Farm, Myer's Produce, Stone Ridge Produce, and the Farmers Market Staff!!!
We would like to THANK EVERYONE for making the Celebration a SUCCESS!!!
We had a day of fun and activities:
- Live Music all day!
- Dancing
- Fresh Summer Produce & related items
- Homemade Snacks
- Refreshments
- Pit Cooked Barbeque and more by the Pine Grove Missionary Babtist Church
- Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Baked Goods, and more by the Laurel Rescue Squad Auxillary
- A Live Radio Broadcast from 11 - 1 with free giveaways by WBRF FM of Galax

Carroll County Harvest Festival
Saturday, October 8th, 2005
10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Despite the rainy weather before the festival---it was a success and fun was had by all!
Things that were enjoyed:
- Live Music and Dancing
- 4-H Face Painting for kids
- Cotton Candy for the kids
- Laurel Rescue Auxiliary had snacks, meals, and refreshments
- Fairview Presbyterian Church served Buckwheat & Regular pancakes and more!
- Woodlawn Christian Church did an applebutter demonstration
- Pleasant View Church sold homemade Applebutter
- Hillsville Fire Department Auxiliary sold Raffle Tickets for a Homeade Quilt
- Fresh Fall Produce including Pumpkins, Gourds, Squash and more was available
This annual event was sponsored by Carroll County and the Southwest Virginia Farmers Market
The event was held before the area's annual "Old Mountain Home Week" which will run from October 15th through October 22nd
We would like to thank EVERYONE who helped make this year's event the BEST!!!!!
